Chocolate Wine Trail

Today we went on the Chocolate Wine Trail in Hermann, MO. We received souvenir wine glasses and a map on our first stop and then headed off on the trail. At each winery we were treated with a glass of wine and a dessert. Each winery also had a wine tasting.

Here is the wonderful selection we enjoyed today.

Adam Puchta Winery:
The Work of the Devil Chocolate Sundae paired with Signature Port or Jazzberry.

Bias Winery:
Double Chocolate Valentine Brownie paired with Rosè.

Hermannhof Winery:
Chocolate Hazelnut Terrine paired with Norton.

OakGlenn Winery:
Chocolate Pound Cake with Cherry Cream paired with River View Red.

Röbller Winery:
Double Chocolate Cheesecake paired with Villa Rouge.

Stone Hill Winery:
Cheesecake-filled Dark Chocolate Crown with Mixed Berry Drizzle paired with Port.

Yum! It was all delicious.

First stop Röbller Winery.

Next onto Bias Vineyard.

Then we headed to OakGlenn.

Hermannhof Winery was our next stop.

Stone Hill Winery was our final stop. We planned it this way so we could eat dinner at the Vintage Restaurant located at the winery. The German dishes are scrumptious here.

My Birthday

Today is my birthday. A cake made out of flowers was delivered to me just moments ago. It is so adorable that I have to share the picture with everyone. Tonight Gregory and my son, Michael, will be taking me out for some great food and dessert.

Possibly A New Job

Well it is time...time to go back to work. I have interviewed for a position at a local school. I have to say that I have enjoyed not working and love being able to pick up my son from school and be home in the afternoon to make after school snacks. Cleaning and maintaining my home, baking, cooking, and running errands are all part of a job that I actually enjoy. This will be a change for me.

Although I have previously worked at schools (some time ago), my son and I always had the same schedule so I was able to get off work and still be there to pick him up. This new job will not allow me to do that. I have mixed feelings. I know that going back to work is necessary at this time, and I do enjoy teaching very much....but at the same time my ideal job is a stay at home mom. I realize that he is growing up and am often told that he does not need me to be there in the afternoon, but I disagree with that and as a mom love being there for him.

On one hand I am hoping that they call soon and tell me that I have the job because there are no other teaching positions open at this time.....but on the other hand a little piece of me hopes that I do not get the job because I enjoy what I do. I know that probably sounds horrible. Keep me in your prayers as I need to find some inner peace regarding this situation.

Update: I got the job and love it. The school I work for is wonderful and I couldn't have asked for a better group of students. I still miss being home for my son when he gets home from school but we are both adjusting.

Will be back soon - More to come!

Sorry for the long delay in posts. It has been a busy year and I have been trying to devote some time to working on my professional blog. ...
